North Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. is about to add 18 new waste banks this year. Up to the end of last year, there are already 87 active waste banks with 5,000 customers.

Slamet Riyadi, Head of North Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. explained, from 87 waste banks, one of them is a central waste bank, namely Sonora Waste Bank.

He explained waste volume in North Jakarta every day is between 900-1,000 tons. Hopefully, additional waste bank could reduce waste in North Jakarta.
"Indeed it has not been able to reduce significantly. At least we encourage there is waste processing,"
he stated.
